I've actually read about this in an old history textbook. They definitely sugar coated most of it. This is a very sad and upsetting piece. Not many people know that this actually did occur unless they either looked into it, had a friend or family member who went through it, or somehow came across the information on this. Most people in America don't know that this happened and if they do it's the sugar coated person. The artwork, as always, is very well done and the panels impact the viewer. In other words great job and I hope to see more like this in the future.

Everything shown is incredibly accurate. The idea of drawing panels to describe it, even with some being a bit vague, is quite original. I also think that the vagueness of the scissors and the laundry subtly implies pain and sadness. I know exactly which movie you're referencing too. I watched this movie years ago, but never thought to draw anything inspired by it. You nailed it The dramatic shading really adds to the quality of your drawing. I also really like how you didn't give the nun pupils. It contributes to her cruelness towards the girls of the asylum. The black and white really makes it more dramatic. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations for you DD. You've told perfectly the whole story of such a controversial topic with only a  handful of powerful images.
I didn't knew the story of this places before: Women treated like, not like, worse than, animals... in the name of... what the hell... . Your comic made me investigate about it. Anyway,  it doesn't surprise me too much, coming from those... "people".
Thank you for telling, and congratulations again.

In my Saturday CHILL game the adopted daughter of one of the players (In the game only!) is a direct descendant of Mary Magdalene. I might have her encounter such a place. There will be blood.

Love this! There's so much horrible shit they've tried to sweep under the rug with these things. I did a piece of them a while ago, and a coworker of mine from Dublin was amazed that an American knew about them. ( She was also very cool and thought the subject deserved to be brought out into the light and shamed.) Well done!!
